KwadKarl and Rotorious FPV proudly present
KwadKarl aka The Krazy Mad FPV Scientist has been in the frame game for years now, and he’s old enough to try something new.
Since the toothpick wave, most new micros out there have recycled essentially the same formula. Krazy Karl would have none of that so he decided to recycle a different formula.
Karl took inspiration from Tommy’s “Ummagwad Remix”. He made it shrunky and funky, and being a wee little Remix, called it the Weemix. Like the Remix, the Weemix has swing cage component access for ease of build and maintenance. Weemix is unique in its weight class as is this whole concept. It offers flight characteristics very similar to its full size counterpart.
The weight distribution keeps the quad locked in, and very stable in the air. Typically this is a 2.5″ (65mm) prop kwad, but it can fit up to 3” props. It’s not a one plate wonder but a true superlight multimicro. Thus Karl threw a canopy option for bottom mount setup into the mix. That setup easily takes 3″ props and any size lipo, and turns the Weemix into the Skreemix.
Weemix has a wee bit of props in view but you can cheat your way out of that – using black propellers makes them almost unnoticeable.
Specs and build options for this piece of kwad art are as follows:
- Skreemix frame weight: 13.9 million micrograms
- Weemix frame weight: 16 million micrograms
- Expect a 50-60 million microgram dry weight
- 16×16 or 20×20 stack
- Whoop aio FC (front and rear mounting only – use metal screws)
- Stack height limit: 19-20mm
- 14mm nano camera
Weemix is happiest in lightweight builds so Karl recommends using a 16×16 stack or an AiO Whoop FC, and 1103 motors of high kv rating on 2s or lower kv on 3s. Lipo battery footprint is typically restricted to 60X20mm but will allow upto 3″ albeit a very tight close fit.
Skreemix wants to be a mean machine so go nuts, and knock yourself out!
